moyo Models for Africa.

The concept for moyo Models for Africa was conceived in 2006 as a direct result of the obvious needs of our local impoverished communities.

moyo Models for Africa is a glamorous evening encompassing a gathering of South African celebrities, personalities and models, who have one common goal - “To raise funds for the less fortunate”.

The thrilling evening, hosted on Saturday, 5 November at the spectacularly located moyo, Eden on the Bay, with its unhindered view of Table Mountain and breathtaking sunsets, was an enormous success.

The event began with vibrant African jazz, performed by talented musos Vuyo Sotashe and Morne Khats. Guests were treated to moyo’s lavish three course dinner, complimentary wine & soft drinks. A gorgeous fashion show with beautiful, well known models followed, with garments shown by top South African designers -  Cindy Bam, Label Femme, House of Silk, Nazir and more.  Other talented musos , Evelyn Hart and Matt Roux, performed throughout the night. Roxy Ingram, moyo Models for Africa patron, was this year’s Master of Ceremonies and 5fm’s Danger Boy concluded the glamorous evening  with the auctioning off of artwork, designer dresses, diamond jewellery and other exotic items.

Guests were spoilt with fabulous giveaways throughout the evening, such as Versace sunglasses, Sisley handbags, hair and makeup vouchers, and so much more.

‘We are extremely excited about this social upliftment event. This year’s event raised R76 850. All proceeds will be distributed to our main beneficiary, SALT.” Roxy Ingram – moyo Models for Africa Patron.

On behalf of SALT, we want to thank everyone that was involved - the committee, sponsors, models, designers, and not least of all, those that supported and attended our event!
